Sanam Jung’s Morning Show Featured Black Face and it’s Beyond Racism. Sanam Jungs’s Morning show Jago Pakistan Jago faces criticism on social media for their racist segment where the task was to made a dark skin toned bride into a beautiful one. The brides were fair as we can see but is it business, ratings or what? Sanam jung had the model faces painted black and got their makeup done just to prove that black skin can look beautiful with makeup too. This is such a disappointing thing to see in today’s Morning show. It’s better to sleep rather than watching this kind of shows.
What’s your opinion?
If they really want to promote the dark-toned beauty without any racism then the thing which they should do is to give a chance to darkly toned face girls instead of painting the light-skinned models. It’s not like dark skinned beauties are extinct that they couldn’t feature them here. The models they picked out were totally looking uncomfortable and you made them look silly. Another News publishing article used very bad harsh words like habshan, makrani and Negro and this is totally unfair.
Sanam Jung’s Morning Show Featured Black Face and it’s Beyond Racism
If we consider this step of Sanam Jung positively to spread awareness regarding dark color, this is not a way to do so. There are many naturally dark skinned women in Pakistan that she could easily be picked to do makeup. It is literally damaging the beauty of dark-skinned women out in Pakistan and this is not acceptable. This is the form of racism and it is not acknowledged as a way to spread diversity. People supported her idea and we also support it but the way she portrayed was totally wrong.
The show makers should have some kind of responsibility that what kind of show they are going to be aired on the television. They should keep in mind that our most of the audience is not much educated and they will consider this thing very strongly. Nobody has ever talked about it and in Pakistan, it was never a big issue regarding the skin colors. This kind of morning shows, the fairness cream ads have highlighted this non-serious issue and we cannot accept it. These kinds of shows should be limited or they should start some intellectual shows like we used to watch in 90’s or early 20’s. Once we were used to watching the informative shows like Ashfaq Ahmed, Khawateen time etc. and now this.
