Location and Distance from Islamabad Fairy Meadows Distance from Islamabad is almost 540 kilometer. A road journey from Islamabad on Karakoram Highway (KKH) takes 11 hours to Chillas. From there onwards via silk
route up to Raikot Bridge that is approximately 76 km away from Gilgit. Afterward 1.5 hours a jeep ride to the village Tatto and then 3 Hours Trek to Fairy Meadows. You can also take a 2 hours flight from Islamabad to gilgit and then from Gilgit to Raikot bridge Raikot Bridge to Tattu via local jeep and a 3 hours trek from Tattu to Fairy Meadows. By road there are two routes one through Naran, kaghan valley and the other through kohistan and Dassu.
Temperature/Best Time to Visit
In summer weather is very pleasant here. The spring brings a blend of color that never seen in another season with the roaring river. The crimson color of leaves in spring has its own charm. Six months tourist season to fairy meadows starts in April and continues until the end of September. While the best time to visit this place is between the end of June to the middle of August.The winter is harsh in Fairy meadows and the place becomes inaccessible in winter due to heavy snowfall.
Road Conditions to Fairy Meadows
Unfortunately road condition is not good.It is all pot holes after Pattan you can hardly maintain 20 to 30 km per hour speed condition is especially bad after dassu.another route is from kaghan, Naran ,Babusar pass, Chillas. But it only open by the end of May or June. So plan your trip when Babusar Pass is open and travel through the Kaghan valley the road is excellent.
