Riding along the road, grass and trees all around, the weather feels just right for this type of adventure when you notice an animal crossing the road ahead. The zebra never looked this big in pictures and on television. Oh, and just as you turn your head, a tall giraffe a few feet away carelessly eats leaves from a tree. The sight is magical.
Well readers, this is safari to you! Some of you who have had the experience to enjoy the safari park in Kenya know the feeling. But what is truly enticing is that Pakistan Airlines have re-launched their own Air Safari to bring back the adventure of viewing one of the most breathtaking sights of Pakistan. And that too by AIR!! What makes it even more exciting is that we have generally been attuned to watching and experiencing road safaris but to have the opportunity to enjoy air safari is another story in itself.
Schedule and duration of PIA Air Safari
The 80 minute ride which is functional on Saturdays and Sundays only, has recently taken its first set of passengers that mostly included celebrities of Pakistan to Skardu.
PIA initiated the safari experience in the 2000s and it became very popular among people but halted the service after law and order situations and financial crises. The service is revived again in 2011 but due to low market it demand the operation was stopped.
Route of PIA Air Safari
In recent years, we have seen the rise in tourism as Northern areas of Pakistan become the best places to visit during summers. The influx of people from around the country that flood in to places such Naran, Kaghan, Gilgit Baltistan, Sakrdu and Hunza to find relief from the scorching heat that grips most of the country, these places not only provide a relief in temperature but the scenery brings coolness to the eyes.
For this reason, PIA has once again initiated the operations to provide the people of Pakistan an experience of a life time. The best part about this service is that if you take a road trip to these places it is a tiresome journey. Cutting down on traveling time, PIA gives its people to enjoy Pakistan like never before.
The jet aircraft, becoming one of the world’s first of its kind to launch such a service, takes a trip over the peaks of Karakoram and Hindukush ranges, such as the Nanga Parbat, Mount Trichmir, Rakaposhi and the striking Baltoro Glacier. K-2, the world’s second highest peak, standing spectacularly also becomes a part of the majestic adventure.
Ticket Fairs of PIA Air Safari
It is reported that the cost (tax included) for the round trip is PKR 25,000/-
The one of its kind experience takes you over snow-capped mountain ranges, lakes, valleys, the Deosai Plains making you wonder how beautiful and blessed is the topography of Pakistan.
Air Safari is an excellent revival by PIA and it will not only bring the best image of Pakistan around the world but may also help boost PIA’s image and service that has been in a downfall for quite some time. Nonetheless, it’s an experience one should not miss out on!
