Location & Distance from Islamabad

Naran kaghan valley runs parallel to Neelum valley AJK and one track from Sharda Neelum Valley leads to Lalazar Naran. Besides Naran, Kaghan is also a small town located at 200 km & some 7 hours drive from Islamabad. Kaghan is just 20 Km short of Naran and considered as main tourist point of Naran Valley.ther are two routes available from Islamabad to Naran Kaghan one is through Abbottabad and other is through Muzaffarabad.

Temperature/Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Naran Kaghan is from April to September. A Few years back, Naran roads were only accessible in June but now Naran has been accessible even in late april as roads are cleared from Snow due to very less snowfall. The average annual temperature in Naran is 10.1 °C.

Lake Saif-Ul-Malook

Situated at an altitude of 3,224 meters, it is considered as one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. It is main attraction for tourists in Naran/Kaghan. Saif-ul-Malook was formed by glacial moraines that blocked the water of the stream passing through the valley .From there you can also view the famous Malkai Parbat, the highest peak in Naran/Kaghan valley.

Babusar Top

Babusar Pass connects Gilgit Baltistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is the highest point in the babusar valley that can be easily accessed by cars. Babusar pass is one of the famous hairpinned roads in the world.

Ansu Lake

One of the most beautiful and unique lakes in the magnificent Kaghan Valley is known as the Ansoo lake. A tear-shaped Ansu Jheel is another wonder of nature. From lake saif-ul- muluk four hours are required to reach a peak of 14000 feet.
